بعد اعلان شركة ادوبي بأنها في عام 2020ستوقف دعم الفلاش للأجهزة المحمولة اصبحت الحاجة الى لغة ثانية.HTML5 هي واحدة من تقنيات الويب الساخنة وتكتسب قبولًا واسعًا عبر الأجهزة المحمولة وشبكة الويب، هي صممت لتقديم كل ما تريد القيام به تقريبًا عبر الإنترنت دون الحاجة إلى برامج إضافية مثل المكونات الإضافية للمستعرض. تستخدم لأنشاء تطبيقات معقدة بشكل لا يصدق. هي تدعم الوسائط المتعددة على الأجهزة المحمولة وتعمل على جميع أنظمة التشغيل المحمولة وتستجيب لجميع أحجام الشاشات. وتمتاز بالتخزين المؤقت في وضع عدم الاتصال، والشيء المهم ان معظم أدوات تأليف التعليم الإلكتروني الرئيسية المتوفرة في السوق تتوافق معها تقريبًا.
